As the FIFA World Cup 2026 takes the global stage, we want to celebrate the artists who make our city one of the most creative places in the country. Through Funk on the World Stage, one Jersey City artist will see their original artwork featured on a limited-edition 1634 Funk t-shirt — sold and displayed throughout the World Cup season.

This is our way of investing in the community that built us. Whether you're an emerging artist working out of your apartment or an established creator with a gallery resume, we want to see your vision.

To be eligible, you must be:

• 21 years of age or older as of May 11, 2026
• A current resident of Jersey City, NJ
• Able to provide valid government-issued photo ID and proof of Jersey City residency upon winning (utility bill, lease, or NJ driver's license)
• The original creator of your submitted artwork

Open to all skill levels — emerging and established artists welcome.

Employees, contractors and immediate family members of 1634 Funk are not eligible.

One entry per person. Multiple entries result in disqualification.

To keep your entry valid, your artwork must NOT:

• Depict cannabis, cannabis products, paraphernalia, smoke, leaves or imagery suggestive of cannabis use
• Include imagery, characters or content that would appeal to anyone under 21
• Contain copyrighted material, third-party trademarks, FIFA or World Cup logos, team logos or athlete likenesses
• Contain obscene, defamatory, hateful or discriminatory content
• Have been previously published, sold or entered in another contest

All submitted artwork must be 100% original and created solely by the entrant.

Submissions will be evaluated by a panel of judges appointed by 1634 Funk based on:

Criteria & Weight:  

25% Originality and creativity 

25% Reflection of Jersey City pride and World Cup spirit

25% Visual impact and artistic skill

25% Suitability for t-shirt reproduction and brand alignment

 Decisions of the judges are final.

License and Use of Artwork

By submitting an entry, you grant 1634 Funk a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display your submitted artwork solely for the purposes of contest administration, judging and announcement of results.

For the winning artwork only, the winner grants 1634 Funk an exclusive, royalty-free license to reproduce, manufacture, distribute, sell, display and promote the artwork in connection with:

• Limited-edition t-shirt production and sale
• Promotional and marketing materials
• Social media and digital media features
• In-store and vending event displays

This exclusive license remains in effect for two (2) years from the winner announcement date. The winner retains underlying ownership of the original artwork and may continue to use it in their personal portfolio and for non-commercial personal use during this period.

Winner Notification

The winner will be notified by email and phone using the contact information provided in the entry. The winner must respond within five (5) business days of notification to claim the prize. Before receiving the cash prize, the winner must:

• Provide valid government-issued photo ID
• Provide proof of Jersey City residency (utility bill, lease, or NJ driver's license)
• Complete IRS Form W-9
• Sign a brief license agreement

If the winner does not respond within five business days, an alternate winner may be selected.

Compliance

This contest is administered in compliance with all applicable New Jersey Cannabis Regulatory Commission marketing rules. The contest is open exclusively to individuals 21 years of age or older. No cannabis products are offered as prizes. Promotional materials related to this contest do not depict cannabis use, products or imagery.

This promotion is in no way sponsored, administered or associated with FIFA, the FIFA World Cup, any soccer league, team or athlete. This promotion is in no way sponsored, administered or associated with Instagram, Meta, or any social media platform.

Personal information collected from entrants will be used solely for administering the contest, verifying eligibility and contacting the winner. ID and residency documents collected from the winner will be stored securely and disposed of within 90 days of the winner announcement, unless retention is required by law. 1634 Funk will not sell or share entrant information with third parties.

• 1634 Funk reserves the right to disqualify any entrant who violates these rules or attempts to tamper with the entry process
• 1634 Funk reserves the right to modify or terminate the contest if circumstances arise beyond reasonable control
• All entries become the property of 1634 Funk and will not be returned
• This contest is governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey
